About me

Omar Serrano is an expert Web Developer based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico

Hey there! I’m Omar Serrano, a web developer with a decade of experience under my belt and a serious passion for crafting digital solutions. For the past seven years, I’ve been diving headfirst into the ever-evolving world of WordPress, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

My journey in tech has taken me through a variety of roles—think freelance gigs, eCommerce adventures, and everything in between. 🛠️ Along the way, I’ve honed a knack for wearing multiple hats and tackling challenges with a mix of creativity and precision.

Right now, I’m flexing my tech skills at an awesome spot under the Department of Energy, but I’ve also had the privilege of working as a Customer Success Engineer at WordPress VIP. There, I teamed up with big-name clients to optimize their WordPress setups, troubleshoot complex issues, and make the most of the VIP platform’s power—experience I’m channeling into my side projects too!

Check me out on UpWork.

I’m passionate about Gutenberg and custom block development. Working with ReactJS and web components, I love crafting interactive, high-impact blocks that push the Gutenberg editor to its limits. I also get a kick out of automating CI/CD pipelines. Streamlining the build process to keep development fast and efficient is something I genuinely enjoy.

Beyond the tech, I focus on building applications that make a difference. Whether it’s optimizing for SEO to drive visibility or ensuring 508 compliance for accessibility, I’m committed to creating solutions that work well and work for everyone. Quality code with real impact is what drives me.

Outside of the digital realm, I’m all about the simple stuff that keeps me grounded. I cherish time with my wife and two kids, who share my enthusiasm for JiuJitsu. We’re a family of budding martial artists! When I need to unwind, you’ll find me strumming my guitar or messing around in GarageBand, making music that’s probably louder than it should be.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you’re interested in working together, please feel free to reach out!
